Happy Midsummer! ~~~~Glad Midsommar!

Posted by Sussi (Landskrona, Sweden) on 18 June 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

On Friday, the Midsummer Eve in Sweden, do not really know which countries celebrate this day, but probably a great deal in Europe! Midsummer is celebrated as it is the year's longest day "Summer Solstice"
The tradition is to eat typical midsummer-food, such as herring potato meatballs sausage etc. It also puts a large pole, and hanging garlands of flowers marguerites poppy cornflower etc, then dance around the midsummer pole-dancing in the ring with traditional songs ... small frogs;)

We are certainly celebrating Midsummer here in Finland, it's the night of joy. Food, drinks, plays, sauna... it takes many things to make Midsummer Eve the best day of the whole summer. Tomorrow may not be sunny and warm, but everyone will be happy. Glad midsommar, Sussi!

PS. I love the picture, too.
